No photos or texts for your website: how to gather them in one evening

Missing materials are the main reason a website gets postponed: no texts, no decent photos. But a phone and one evening are enough to start. Here is how to gather everything.

No photos or texts for your website: how to gather them in one evening

Texts: five questions by voice message

Don't sit down to write. Record voice answers to five questions: what you do and for whom, how you differ from others, what you offer and for how much, how an order works, why people trust you.

Speak the way you would explain it to a client. A minute per question is enough.

What I do with the voice messages

I transcribe them, build the structure of each page and shape the paragraphs. You read the result and fix anything that doesn't sound like you. You never have to write from scratch.

Photos: eight shots

Eight shots are usually enough for a website: you at work, the place (entrance, office or workshop), the result up close, the process from inside, tools or materials, packaging or delivery, the team or at least your hands, a screenshot of a client review.

How to shoot on a phone

Window light, no flash. Wipe the lens. Shoot horizontally: website photos are almost always wide. No filters and no pinch-zoom: step closer instead. Take 3–5 takes of each shot and I will pick the best.

When stock photos are fine

Stock works for backgrounds, textures, illustrations and as a temporary stand-in until you have your own. For your team, your work and the place where you work, your own photos are better: strangers' faces don't build trust.

Where to start

Send a voice message about your business and I will draw up the list of questions and shots for your case.
